Handcrafts for Australia Wildfire Rescues

Attention knitters, crocheters, and sewers: The fires in Australia have killed a billion animals and injured many. Animal rescues are working hard to help. Fellow handcrafters, we can help: There is a need for bat wraps, bird nests, blankets, and joey pouches.

Participate in making some of these items and sending them to Australia.

All are welcome! The Artisan Work Lab will provide yarn, fabric, crochet hooks, and sewing machines. Participants may bring materials to donate as well. Monetary donations accepted to help with shipping costs. Participants can also make some items during the week and bring them that day.

The project will only ship items advised by the Facebook group Animal Rescue Craft Guild or the Facebook group Rescue Craft Co. The “event link” will take you to the approved patterns.

The resulting contributions go to a local hub in Whittier collecting items and shipping to rescues in Australia.

To RSVP, email freestore@gocatalyst.org

The event is finished.
